We’ll depart Tucson on June 30, 2016. We will spend 1 night in Instanbul to see the city, as well as rest for our final 8 hour flight to Kilimanjaro. We’ll have 12 days in Africa that you will never forget: Tanzanian lodges, a private Serengeti tented safari camp for several days, coffee estate tour, basket making, school visit, and a Maasai (means “endless plain”) village experience. July is the coolest time to go. The Tsetse Flies are not in force, the animals are more active, the Big 5 are present (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard), and we’ll be getting out of the heat in Tucson. In fact, it will be near freezing on the rim of the crater at night.
Plan to also see cheetah, zebra, hippo, hyena, antelope, giraffe, wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, Bat-eared fox, Golden jackal, and numerous bird species (Purple grenadier, Red-cheeked cordon bleu, Secretary bird, eagle, and the elegant Grey crowned crane).
On our trip home, we will spend 1 more night in Instanbul and arrive in Tucson July 15. A more detailed itinerary will be provided to all confirmed travelers as we get closer to the trip. A consultation with a travel nurse or doctor is highly recommended well in advance of the trip to manage any health needs or minimize any risks.

Our trip will be a great value for everything we get. There are other safaris and companies out there who will be charging less BUT they will offer fewer game drives, less time seeing animals, more time in cities, more driving time between reserves, and much larger groups. We will have maximum time on game drives, see the Big 5, and will be with a quality and established operator.
