Bend, Oregon: Craft Beer Capital! Ski, Board, Snowshoe, Ice Skate, X Country
Sunday, December 12, 2021, 7:00 AM to Saturday, December 18, 2021, 10:00 PM MST
We haven’t been to Oregon yet…we haven’t skied in Oregon yet…and we haven’t tried all of their craft beers or visited their wine country yet!!!
So…we are going this December for a week long immersion.
NOTE: recruit a non-member guest to join the group and go on the trip and save $50/referral.
We will be staying in town so everything is close by. Our new non-smoking hotel has all the amenities we need, including the best Covid breakfast I’ve had, free wifi, indoor hot tub and pool, fitness center, microwave and refrigerator in the room, Keurig coffee makers, pizza and draft/craft beer on site, and giant chocolate chip cookies:-). And I got a discounted rate.
We will arrive on Sunday, have Monday through Friday to ski and play without lift lines and tourists, and come home Saturday. If we get enough people, I can get us discounted group lift tickets. And the resort is not expensive like those big Colorado and Utah resorts. BUT it is the 6th largest ski mountain in the country. Fabulous early season snow.
The majority of the mountain is intermediate with untracked powder almost guaranteed. All the tree areas are skiable, and they have 8 high speed quads to cut down on your lift time. Great grooming on the runs too. If you are an adventurous skier, they have runs and areas that will challenge you and make you scream out loud:-)
3365 vertical drop and 101 runs. Plus all of the off piste areas end up at a lift. 4300 skiable acres. Known for it’s light and dry snow, very friendly, and you can ski on a volcano!!!
There are numerous activities available on your days off or if you don’t ski or board. So bring that friend with you. Try out dog sledding, ice skating, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, exploring lava tubes, or mastering craft brew sampling…
